Chesterfield County is located midway between two metropolitan areas – the Charlotte MSA and the Florence, SC MSA. The labor market and economic profile of Chesterfield County is closely linked to both MSA’s. The Charlotte MSA has a total population of more than 1.3 million with a 28% growth rate from 2000-2008. The Florence MSA population is 200,000 and saw a 3.5 growth rate in population from 2000-2008.
Chesterfield County is a member of both the Charlotte Regional Partnership and the North Eastern Strategic Alliance. Both organizations work closely with Chesterfield County to market and recruit new business and industry to the County and provide assistance to existing industry.
