| Chesterfield County Economic Development Launches Redesigned Web Site |
| August 28, 2009 |
| Chesterfield, SC – Chesterfield County Economic Development Board launched a completely redesigned economic development web site at www.ChesterfieldCountySC.org. Several months ago, the Northeastern Strategic Alliance hired a consultant to evaluate the marketing packages and effectiveness of all nine member counties, with special emphasis on websites. CCEDB used this assessment as a template for the redesign. The new site addresses accessibility, functionality, type and format of data that site consultants find helpful in preliminary evaluations and hopefully pleasing aesthetics as well. For the first time, Chesterfield County has an independent site & building database. The previous design was linked to SC Department of Commerce, which provided excellent information, but a user was able to "shop" other counties as well when the database was accessed. The new database is exclusively Chesterfield County. The CCEDB Web site includes: • Information detailing the mission, current board members, history of County/Towns • Business, logistics and lifestyle advantages of locating in Chesterfield County • Current economic development information/demographics • Industrial sites/building database • Visitor information • Links to regional, state & local websites "The new web-site concept was under-taken with the goal of providing an attractive, comprehensive site that targets a specific economic development audience as identified by CCEDB's most recent Target Industry Study and Strategic Plan. Tourists and potential new residents are provided with a 'taste' of our lifestyle and links to more detailed sites for further information, said Cherry McCoy, Executive Director. I would like to thank CCEDB board-members Harold Lomas and Tommy Sellers for their service on the Website Committee." added McCoy. The web site was designed by My Web Site Guys, Rock Hill, SC, who very graciously worked within our budget to complete the redesign.
